John is responsible for providing guidance and collaborating with outside counsel and stakeholders on legal matters affecting Fogelman’s property operations, corporate matters, and investment platform. John also oversees risk management for Fogelman’s operating company, real estate investments, and third-party managed properties, and he is responsible for the placement and adminstration of insurance policies for Fogelman and its investment portfolio. In partnership with Fogelman’s senior leadership, operations, and asset management teams, John designs and implements policies and practices to minimize legal, regulatory, environmental, and other exposures, and he supports Fogelman’s contract negotiations and real estate transactions. John holds a BBA and MS in Accounting from the University of Memphis, a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and he is an attorney admitted to practice law in Tennessee. He has served as president of both the Tennessee Apartment Association and the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis and was named “Top 40 Under 40” by the Memphis Business Journal.
